Congressman Ed Perlmutter (D-Colorado) announced that he will not seek re-election following the end of his 2022 term. The announcement, made via Twitter, cites the Congressman's more than 25 years' in elected service.
Congressman Perlmutter has been a longtime proponent for federal legalization of cannabis and co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, and was the lead sponsor of the SAFE Banking Act, which would have increased access to federal insured banking practices by state regulated cannabis businesses.
